Ceramic Tint Versus Regular Tint
The main difference between front windshield ceramic tint and regular tint is their ability to protect a vehicle against heat and UV rays from the sun. Ceramic tint excels at blocking both heat and UV rays, as an added bonus will not interfere with GPS signals or any other similar technologies.
Regular Tint
When we talk about regular tint, more often than not we are referring to dyed tint. These are made out of polyester sheets that are dyed to specific gradations, ranging from lighter to darker, and are available in different colors. They do have a certain degree of sun-blocking ability, however, the UV rays can still penetrate them, so you will start to feel the temperature rising. This is also the most affordable tint but is not guaranteed to last for long.
After some time it will need replacing because of the fading and discoloration. With ceramic, you do not get this issue no matter how long the exposure is to sunlight. People complain after they get their car tinted, that it is still too hot in the vehicle. One big misconception is that a darker tint offers better heat reduction, and cooler abilities, sadly this is not the case.
What Is Ceramic Window Tinting?
This is coated with ceramic and does not have any nano-ceramic particles. It can absorb a great deal of heat no matter the darkness. The clear ceramic coating is what blocks the heat! The technology used will reflect the sun, UV, and sun glare too. So you don’t have to worry about interference with radio, GPS, Wi-Fi, and other similar technologies with this tint, as it does not contain metal. Nano-Ceramic tint will block 99% of the Sun’s UV light.
